BOMBAY SAPPHIRE DISTILLERY

Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke, Hampshire, is a fully working brand home in the heart of rural Hampshire. Working as part of the design team alongside Heatherwick Studio and 1751, we were responsible for the creation of the graphic elements of the self guided tour.

This included the development of an audio and video tour linked to a visitor map. These elements combine to give visitors story of the making of Bombay Sapphire where the ingredients are sourced, its heritage and the links between this and this historic site. Situated in a paper mill which was previously used to make the paper for the Bank of England notes, the whole site had to be treated with a very light touch. Anything that was introduced to the buildings had to be as authentic as possible ensuring that it was in keeping with its long history. To achieve this we developed a full signage scheme using cast bronze signs inset into the brickwork, hand painted elements and engraved bronze panels.
